Village Museum

The museum is located in the Herastrau Park and it was opened in 1936. Today, it is named after one of the museum founders, Dimitrie Gusti.

This outdoor ethnographic museum will take you back in time revealing the everyday life of people in the romanian villages. Here you can see traditional houses, farms, wooden churches and mills, all relocated from different parts of Romania. Many houses can be visited.

There is an audio guide for smartphone and a guide on request for groups (in English, French, Spanish, Italian and Russian). Guided tours must be booked at least 24 hours in advance via e-mail or phone.

After the visit, you can try the menu of the restaurant located inside the museum in an authentic inn built in the 19th century.
